You can use this information to determine if your bandwidth is suitable for a project or zoom or group run.

If you don’t want to rely on the internet speed tester built into your search engine, another option is to download an app. My app of choice, available for multiple platforms, is Ookla SpeedTest. I found this service to be fast, reliable and provide accurate tests.
I use this test regularly, whether out and about and when at home or in the office. It gives me a little Internet health check and allows me to track down potential problems with my network and Internet connection. Two crossed lines form an ‘X’. If you want to change your internet service provider or increase your internet speed, it is good to know where your internet speed is. This will help you better understand what you want and need from your new internet plan.
Google provides a simple and quick tool to do this and you can easily find it by starting a Google search. This Google speed test measures your internet speed in megabits per second or Mbps. The test determines your internet speed by measuring the amount of data that can be transferred over your connection.

The FCC standard for a fast Internet connection is at least 25 Mbps for download and 3 Mbps for upload.
Internet download speeds above 25 Mbps are considered fast and can range from 100 Mbps to 2,000 Mbps. For four or more users and devices, you definitely need more than 25 Mbps to be considered a fast Internet connection.
Internet upload speeds tend to be low, and in 2015, the FCC recommended at least 3 Mbps, but many consider 5 Mbps fast, with speeds up to 50 Mbps.
Quick tip: Keep in mind that your internet speed is constantly changing, depending on how far you are from your router, the number of devices on your network, and how much data you’re currently using. So, taking the test alone at home will give you a higher score than taking the test while five people are streaming Netflix.

How To Test Your Internet Speed The Quick And Easy Way
Ookla’s Speedtest tool is the fastest and easiest way to test your internet speed, and it’s only going to get better as Adobe stops supporting the now-defunct Flash platform and moves to HTML5. Okla is beta testing a new version of Speedestt with a new design that is more minimal than the current Flash-based website, which you can find here. The best part: you don’t need any resource-intensive plugins you don’t want to use.
Although not the most exciting news, this is another indication that the era of Flash is over after years of failure and the general removal of useful information from the founder of Apple, Steve Jobs. Last week, Adobe put the nail in the coffin for web developers to stop building the tool. The company also changed its signature software from Flash Professional CC to Animate CC, cleaning up the Flash name and keeping the product more in line with animation. Unfortunately, most websites from major streaming services like HBO and Spotify still rely on Flash in some way, which means we can’t get rid of it just yet. One of the most important questions Google Stadia users may have is whether your network is fast. They are quite fast. Fortunately, Google has a tool that answers these questions.
Open the official Google Stadia speed test tool and tap/tap the “Test Now” button, after which you will be given feedback on what to expect from Stadia.
A few things to note about this test: I recommend running it several times to get a feel for network dynamics, in 6 tests my speed was as low as 31Mbps and as high as 110Mbps, with an average of around 78Mbps. It is also a very conservative speed test I found, running 6 more tests on Fast.com and Speedtest.net, my results varied from 78Mbps to 220Mbps, with an average of around 167Mbps.
Check Bandwidth & Internet Speed
The speed test tool will give you some good information about your current network, so take it and compare the targets to the table below to get the best results from Stadia. If you’re thinking of upgrading your internet for Stadia, here’s what to do.
The lower end is 10Mbps, which gives you 720p resolution at 60fps with stereo sound. At 20Mbps, they reach the next threshold for 1080p resolution at 60fps, HDR and 5.1 surround sound. Finally, you can stream 4K resolution at 35Mbps at 60fps with HDR and 5.1 surround sound.
This creates another area that Google Stadia customers need to consider, and that is bandwidth limitations. At current rates, 4K streaming via Google Stadia uses up the entire 1TB data cap for 64 hours. Drop down to 1080p and this increases to around 111 hours. You’re looking at 222 hours at 720p, which is a brutal month of gaming.
The example above assumes that there is no other network activity, which is probably not the case. If you’re not sure if your ISP has a data cap, you can check this page from Broadband Now. Bethesda’s Orion Project offers some hope that this front-end improvement may come from efforts to reduce developer bandwidth at the game level, but it won’t be immediately useful for early Google Stadia users.
